Cutting the fat from her earliest configuration which included backing vocals and keys Tamar-kali gets to the gritty roots of her coming of age on the NYC rock scene.

Equipped with a 3 guitar arsenal - Jerome Jordan,  Tamar-kali & Thom Loubet and a killer rhythm section - Mark Robohm  on drums and Jeremiah Hosea on bass;  the 5 piece packs the punch of a thousand ex-girlfriends.

Inpired by her longtime love of strings; Psychochamber Ensemble est. 1998 - an all female instrumentalist string sextet featuring electric and acoustic bass, viola, violin and cello - presents deconstructed versions of songs from her 5 piece and pieces arranged and composed specifically for strings by Tamar-kali . Featuring some of New York's finest instrumentalists from Mazz Swift (Burnt Sugar, The McCabes) to Julia Kent (Rasputina, Antony & the Johnsons); this 'Heart & Bones' project is a haunting and mesmerizing look right into the soul of Tamar-kali.
